Vivek Agnihotri’s old video confessing he eats beef goes viral amid Brahmastra protests
Ranbir Kapoor recently caused a social media firestorm when an old video of him discussing his love of and desire for beef went viral online. The actor was criticised, and his film Brahmastra was requested to be boycotted.
This year, the boycott trend has devoured a large number of films, and Bollywood is already feeling the effects. The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri once discussed how much he enjoys eating beef in an interview that has now gone viral. Naturally, it has sparked a fresh uproar online.
The critic of Brahmastra Agnihotri is heard in the film saying, “I have also written that the best beef you get there, I have written so many things, I used to eat it then, I used to eat it now, nothing has changed in my life.”
As a result of complaints that Ranbir consumes beef, the video has sparked discussion about why Vivek was given a free pass whereas Alia and Ranbir were just denied access to a temple.
While it’s been reported that protests over the beef comment prevented Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor from entering the temple, a fan tweeted a photo of Vivek Agnihotri standing inside the temple with The Kashmir Files producer Abhishek Agarwal and enquired as to how he had been let to do so.
The fan questioned, “He also consumes beef, why is he permitted?”
