Watch: Crocodile Enters Residential Colony Amid Heavy Rains in MP’s Shivpur
On Sunday, a crocodile strayed into a residential neighbourhood in the Shivpuri district as torrential rains pounded areas of Madhya Pradesh, according to a report from news agency PTI, which quoted an official.
The effort took an hour, the official reported, and it was eventually seized.
After an hour-long effort, a crocodile that had strayed into a residential area in the Shivpuri region of Madhya Pradesh during heavy rain was caught, according to an official.
Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Ajay Bhargava said the reptile was discovered in the early morning hours at a colony next to the old bus stop, at which point the authorities were notified.
After an hour-long attempt, a rescue team from Madhav National Park was called in, and the eight-foot-long lizard was eventually released in Sankhya Sagar Lake, he said.
The crocodile may have infiltrated the colony by passing through a swollen nullah close to it, according to officials.
The crocodile is visible in front of a home in a residential colony’s tight alley on a video of the rescue attempt.
After Saturday night’s rains, the district administration told its staff members not to leave the main office without the collector’s consent.
