Dogs adore their owners and would go to any length to protect them. After four months of waiting outside a hospital for his owner to be discharged, one dog has demonstrated his loyalty to him.
After being stabbed in a public park in So Paolo, Brazil, the homeless owner suffered significant injuries. He was rushed to Santa Casa de Novo Horizonte Hospital for emergency care, but he had to leave his dog behind because the medical personnel wouldn’t let him in the ambulance with him.
The dog, unable to leave his owner’s side, pursued the emergency car for miles and sat outside the hospital doors, hoping that his owner would soon walk through them – but this did not happen.
The man, however, died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
According to the Mirror, after seeing the dog outside the hospital following an appointment, Cristina Sardella inquired about him at reception, and was heartbroken to learn of his story.
She wrote on Facebook about the dog’s tragedy, ” “Animals can teach us a lot about life.
“This dog waits for its owner, who has regrettably died away, at the holy hospital’s entrance every day.
“I’m aware that some individuals feed it. His patience will be in vain, but the love he has for his master will last forever.” I’m also struck by the reverence with which the personnel of the holy hospital treats him. As a result, life goes on, with animals teaching humans the true meaning of love.” The dog was picked up by an animal charity and adopted shortly after Cristine’s post on social media.
However, the dog was unable to adjust to his new existence and fled away in pursuit of his former owner.
The Mirror quoted Cristine as saying: “The dog’s story is heartbreaking. After my posting, he was adopted, but he ran away, and no one knows where he is now.”
