Amit Palekar, the Aam Aadmi Party’s chief ministerial candidate for the forthcoming assembly elections in Goa, was unveiled on Wednesday by the party.
The AAP has announced that it will run for all 40 seats in BJP-controlled Goa next year. Aside from the incumbent BJP and the opposition Congress, the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC), the Shiv Sena, and other parties will compete.
Arvind Kejriwal, who made the statement, stated that AAP aims to give the state a face that would appeal to people of all religions and all classes.
The AAP is running unopposed in the Goa state election. The AAP has so far announced 30 candidates for the 40-member Goa assembly.
Some of the major names on the AAP’s candidate list included Lincoln Vaz (Margao), Nonu Naik (Priol), Gabriel Fernandes (Curchorem), Raul Pereira (Quepem), and Manoj Ghadi Amonkar (Sanquelim).
