As a lead-up to the Formula E Prix race that will take place in Hyderabad early next year, a Formula E car was unveiled in the city on Sunday. Arvind Kumar, Telangana’s Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, introduced the Mahindra automobile in front of sports fans at Durgam Cheruvu Cable-Stayed Bridge. Later, it was kept on display at Tank Bund, which is located in the centre of the city on the Hussain Sagar lake’s banks.
In the days ahead, the vehicle will be on display at a number of additional sites throughout the city as well as in other major Indian cities, leading up to the Formula E event that will take place in Hyderabad on February 11 of next year. It will be India’s first-ever Formula E race, and the car is being displayed to raise awareness throughout the nation. Hyderabad will be one of the 12 global locations and the only city in India chosen to host the Formula E Grand Prix in 2023.
Along Hussain Sagar lake, the 2.37 mile track will pass the Telangana Secretariat, NTR Gardens, and Lumbini Park. The Formula E Gen 2 cars, according to the organisers, resemble Formula 1 cars but utilise electric vehicle technology. The automobile, which is powered by a 250kW battery, has a top speed of 280 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 62 kmph in less than three seconds. Just 80 dB are generated by the sound of the car racing at top speed. These vehicles are built to last the full race and in any weather thanks to the hybrid tyres they utilise. One of the world’s most rapidly expanding sporting events is the Formula E Grand Prix.
