Three people were detained after an international kidnapping ring was exposed in Kolkata
On Sunday, the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport in Kolkata was targeted by West Bengal Bidhannagar City Police, who also apprehended three suspects. 20 young people were rescued at NSCBI Airport by the police and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials in a joint operation before being trafficked elsewhere. Suresh Sinha, Rakesh Prasad Sinha, and Dhiraj Das are the three people who were detained.
It has been reported that on September 16, a man named Naresh Kumar, a native of the state of Haryana, reported his son Rahul Kumar missing since he arrived in Kolkata on August 28. Kumar told the police that a phoney international employment agency tricked his son into accepting a lucrative job offer in the US. Rahul’s father stated that after being requested to travel to Kolkata to finish the necessary paperwork on this point, he was abducted. According to Bidhannagar City Police officials, the kidnappers then demanded a ransom from Naresh Kumar of Rs 49 lakh, which he also paid with Rs 40 lakh.
Bidhannagar City Police detectives began their investigation after receiving information from sources that three kidnapping ringleaders were trying to flee the country through NSCBI Airport with 20 teenagers, including Rahul Kumar. The commandant of the CISF battalion stationed at the NSCBI airport was immediately contacted by the Bidhannagar City Police. Twenty young people were rescued as a result of a coordinated operation that resulted in the arrest of three kidnapping ringleaders.
It is known that the family of each of the young people who were freed paid the kidnappers a ransom. ” The defendant formerly had two sources of income. by first requesting a ransom for abducted children. They used to extort large sums of money from the relatives.
