An earthquake measuring 5.6 on Richter Scale Rocked Northeast

On Friday evening, an earthquake rocked parts of the Northeast.

On Friday, portions of the Northeast, including Shillong, were rocked by an earthquake with a value of 5.6 on the Richter Scale. According to the National Centre of Seismology, the earthquake occurred at 3.42 p.m. and had a depth of 60 km (NCS).

The earthquake’s epicentre was 58 kilometres southeast of Champhai district in Mizoram.
So far, no one has been injured as a result of the incident.
