According to the Kurung Kumey district administration, three of the 19 BRO workers who went missing from a road construction site in Huri have apparently died.
So far, eight workers have been saved, and it is said that their health is poor.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) flew five labourers from Huri to Naharlagun on Saturday. And admitted at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, Naharlagun.
According to TRIHMS Director Dr. Moji Jini, the saved personnel are currently being closely monitored.
The oldest of the five, according to him, is reportedly in a “drowsy condition,” and the other four are mildly dehydrated.
On Saturday, airlifting three other workers who are likewise in a bad state was not possible. According to the district government, they have been taken to the district hospital in Koloriang because of their serious medical condition.
According to Kurung Kumey DC Nighee Bengia, eight labourers were rescued from the jungle close to the Furak river between Huri and Furak.
Four people were saved on Friday night, and four more on Saturday.
According to information obtained from the DC, the three deceased employees have been named as Hikmat Ali (38), Forizul Haque (18), and Bajed Ali (19).
After the second round of the search and rescue (S&R) operation on Saturday morning, the three-member IAF team and two officials from Damin had to call off their search mission due to bad weather.
The DC stated that the land rescue effort would continue until all missing people were found or saved.
Under the direction of the Kurung Kumey SP and the DC for the S&R operation, an SDRF team is camped out in Damin with police officers and local rescue teams.
