New travel instructions for the new Covid variation, Omicron, went into effect last night, and the Delhi airport announced this morning that operations for international arrivals from “at-risk” countries are going smoothly.
The World Health Organization has warned that the variation, which was initially discovered in South Africa, poses a “very high” danger globally, setting off alarm bells around the world.
“After the adoption of the New rules handed forth by @MoHFW INDIA, operations for international arrivals are functioning smoothly,” the airport tweeted.
“Due to the availability of Rapid PCR and RTPCR tests, a total of 1013 passengers from four “at-risk” planes completed their arrival procedures successfully. 792 passengers chose Rapid PCR testing, whereas 221 passengers chose RT-PCR testing “It was stated in a previous post.
The United Kingdom, all 44 European countries, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Israel are now on the list of countries designated “at-risk.”
