Aslam Merchant says my son lost 7Kgs being in jail…

Aslam Merchant, the father of Arbaaz Merchant, who was granted bail along with Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and model Munmun Dhamecha yesterday, expressed his delight at the decision. He said the experience taught him personally about the situations of imprisoned and their families.

Arbaaz Merchant’s father Aslam Merchant said that his family had waited 34,560 minutes for this moment when the Bombay high court granted bail to actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan, and two others—Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha—in connection with the drugs-on-cruise case.

He went on to say that the system should be upgraded to a “higher extent.” “Going to jail is traumatic,” he remarked. Consider the predicament of so many others who are imprisoned. We understand how agonising it is now that our own children are on the other side.” He further revealed that his son lost 7 kgs while in jail.

Aryan and his companions Arbaaz and Munmun were among those held on October 2 when a team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) stormed the Goa-bound Cordelia cruise, led by zonal director Sameer Wankhede. A day later, eight persons were formally arrested, including the triplets. Aryan’s legal team moved to the Bombay High Court on October 21 after their bail applications were repeatedly rejected.
