Vineet Bagaria, a young businessman and animal enthusiast, allegedly committed himself after receiving threats from a mafia in Dibrugarh, according to reports. On Saturday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma fired the superintendent of police and expressed regret to Bagaria’s family.
Following a visit to Bagaria’s family’s home, Sarma can be seen in a video by the news agency ANI reprimanding the policeman in front of them.
“I feel so ashamed. Despite your presence, the Mafia arrived here. I’ve never felt so embarrassed…” Speaking in the video is Sarma.
Sarma also demanded an apology for the administration’s oversight and their inability to finish their work on time and save their child.
“The Dibrugarh district administration has failed miserably,” one person said. Of it, I’m embarrassed. In front of the Bagaria family and Assamese citizens, I apologise. It’s possible that the Dibrugarh police did not understand the point of my message, which was that they should be tough on criminals. Sarma stated that we will punish the offenders severely.
