Assam CM to Meet RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat on 30 Jan in Silchar

On January 30, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, will meet with Mohan Bhagwat, the president of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, at Silchar. Bhagwat is in this town in south Assam on a four-day tour before heading to Nagpur on January 31.

Mohan Bhagwat, the Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, visited the Barak valley following several high-profile meetings. Mohan Bhagwat’s trip to Tripura preceded his trip to Barak.

On Friday, Bhagwat addressed a gathering of RSS pracharaks from the Barak Valley and neighboring states at Keshav Bhavan. In the evening, a number of pro-Hindu non-political organizations met with the RSS chief in response to the exclusion of 19 lakh people from the NRC in Assam, the majority of whom are Bengali Hindus, the non-implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 in Assam, and the declaration of a large number of Bengali Hindus in the Barak Valley areas.

Bhagwat, on the other hand, will depart the Barak Valley for Nagpur on January 31st.
