In order to guarantee that the tantalising encounter goes off without a hitch, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has already entertained a number of guests. The match between India and South Africa will take place in Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium in exactly one month. In an upcoming ODI and T20I series, South Africa and India will square off. The 2022 South Africa tour of India will get under way on September 28 and last through October 11. In three ODIs and three T20Is, the Indian team will square off against the Proteas.
On September 2, Biswa Sarma presided over a meeting in Guwahati, where he met with representatives from the Assam Cricket Association (ACA), Public Works Department (PWD), Sports Department, Fire and Emergency Services, and Power Department to discuss plans for the massive event.
Sarma has requested that the state police department “make particular traffic arrangements to avoid congestion” because the game will coincide with Durga Puja. Additionally, Biswa Sarma pledged that “steps will be made to ensure that player and spectator movement is not impeded by ongoing construction work.” Guwahati city is currently experiencing daily traffic jams due to the construction of many structures, including fly-overs.
