A celebration on the grounds of the Gauhati High Court on Monday marked the launch of the “Vidya Rath – School on Wheels” project, which aims to provide elementary education to socially and economically disadvantaged children.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, expressed his optimism that the “school on wheels” project would empower economically disadvantaged children who have hitherto been excluded from formal education while launching it.
As we commemorate 75 years of our freedom, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Sarma stated, “there cannot have been a more perfect opportunity for initiating this great cause.”
The state minister conveyed his appreciation to Justice R.M. Chhaya, Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court, for playing a significant part in carrying out the project in Assam.
Without assisting the socioeconomically underprivileged groups, the India of our dreams cannot be achieved.
Therefore, the Vidya Rath: School on Wheels project will go a long way in providing education to the economically disadvantaged children and aiding in their academic empowerment, according to him.
He claimed that despite the efforts of the federal and state governments to educate everyone, a significant number of youngsters are not enrolled in formal school.
It should be emphasised that the project will assist in granting disadvantaged children access to primary education for a period of ten months.
The children will be absorbed into a regular education system after 10 months. The project will provide students with free midday meals, uniforms, and textbooks.
