Assam to withdraw compulsory Covid-19 tests in Airport, Railway stations and hospitals from February 15th
The Government of Assam has declared withdrawal of all covid-19 compulsory testing facilities
at the airport, railway stations and hospitals for persons who took two doses of vaccine.
A detailed Notification on the same will be out on February 14th
The Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam,Health & Family Welfare Department
Anurag Goel stated, ” That strict containment measures including continuous screening of
incoming passengers through airports and railway stations are being conducted in the state of
Assam to prevent spread of COVID; but Whereas in few cases, COVID positivity is observed
even in some of the people who have received two doses of vaccination”
“Therefore, exempting people who have been vaccinated with two doses of COVID vaccine
from mandatory testing on arrival at airports or railway stations in Assam, is hereby withdrawn
with immediate effect”. He added
Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sharma tweeted “GoA shall withdraw all #COVID19 compulsory
testing facilities at airports, rly stations and hospitals wef feb 15. Also, all restrictions incl night
curfew, social religious gatherings including other curbs shall stand withdrawn. Detailed
