A new twist in the murder of JDU activist Khalil Alam Rizvi emerged when a video went viral on social media showing Khalil being surrounded by unknown persons who were threatening him for eating beef. They were observed abusing and physically attacking him because he ate beef. They were questioning why he dared to eat the ‘gomata’ cow mother. The folks who around Khalil appeared to be terrorizing him.
Another video enraged viewers by showing a dead body, which was claimed to be that of JDU activist Khalil, being burned and buried in a cruel manner with a large quantity of salt.
According to police, JDU activist Khalil Alam Rizvi (34), a resident of Hurhiya village in Bihar, Musrigharari police station area’s Barabatta Panchayat, was kidnapped and slain for ransom a few days ago. The half-burnt body of the deceased was discovered behind a chicken farm in a dhaba on the banks of the Old Gandak river in Vasudevpur village, Kalyanpur police station area, late on Friday night. This created a buzz in the neighbourhood. Sadar DSP Sehban Habib Fakhri and his colleagues arrived at the scene and took inventory. On Saturday morning, the dead body’s post-mortem was performed at Sadar Hospital. Khalil Alam Rizvi, 34, a social worker and a resident of Hurhiya, Barabatta Panchayat, was the son of Mohammad Ayub.
However, according to Rijju the deceased brother on the evening of February 16, miscreants called Khalil’s mobile phone and wanted a ransom of Rs. 5 lakh. After some time, his father Ayub’s phone rang again. His father was held responsible for a ransom of Rs 3 lakh 75 thousand. The ransom had to be paid into a bank account, according to the instructions. There hasn’t been a single phone call since then. The deceased’s relatives went to Musrigharari police station and filed a report regarding the incident. On Friday night, the police technical cell arrived at the scene and began conducting scientific investigation to look for information about the criminals.
