Chandrashekhar Azad, the head of the Azad Samaj Party, will run against Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a BJP politician, in the Gorakhpur assembly elections. Yogi Adityanath has been fielded by the BJP from Gorakhpur, where he has served in the Lok Sabha for five consecutive terms.
“Taking forward Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji’s and Matyavar Kanshi Ram Saheb’s ideology of “Bahujan Hitay-Bahujan Sukhay,” Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) names Chandra Shekhar Aazad as its candidate from Gorakhpur (Urban) constituency,” the party said in a statement.
Bhim Army commander Chandrashekhar ‘Azad’ blasted Akhilesh Yadav for eyeing the ‘Dalit vote bank,’ stating that the former chief minister did not want Dalits in his party, and ruled out an alliance with the Samajwadi Party Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
