According to the FM, the Pradhan Mantri Was Yojana will receive Rs 48,000 crore from the government. Sitharaman went on to say that a budget of Rs 60,000 crore has been set aside to deliver tap water to 3.83 million households.

The government increased its social services expenditure to 8.6% of GDP in 2021-22, up from 6.2 percent in 2014-15, according to the Economic Survey 2021-22 tabled in parliament on Monday.
