In a touching gesture, a differently abled artist from Assam gave Prime Minister Narendra Modi a portrait he had painted on Friday in Delhi. Giving PM Modi his artwork was Abhijeet Gotani’s dream. “Every day, I watch PM Modi on TV. Today was the day I actually got to see him. He praised the painting I made. My dream has come true, “The 28-year-old artist was quoted by the news agency ANI.
Silchar district of Assam is where Gotani is from. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, assisted him in his meeting with the prime minister. Gotani communicated with the media by signing, and his mother assisted in the translation.
To give the Assam chief minister a painting that Gotani had created, his family had recently travelled from Silchar to Guwahati. Gotani had mentioned during that conversation that he wanted to show the Prime Minister his painting. Following that, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote to the Prime Minister’s Office to request an appointment.
Gotani was born deaf and mute, according to an ANI report. He gave the painting to the Prime Minister while being accompanied by his mother. As reported by ANI, Gotani’s mother said, “I could see the twinkle in his eye and feel the delight in his heart when the Prime Minister patted him on the back for the great artwork done by him.”
The chief minister of Assam tweeted about the meeting as well. “Abhijeet Gotani, a divyang artist from Silchar, met the Hon’ble PM along with his mother Lalita Gotani to deliver a portrait he had created.
