The leader of the opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma paid a visit to the areas which has been affected by the floods, and landslides in Ampati, South Garo Hills on Thursday.
The downpours in South West Garo Hills have affected 26 villages with 890 people living there.
Dr. Mukul Sangma and Mr. Richard Marak interacted with the people to understand their problems and assured them of unconditional support over the circumstances they are in now.
The formal chief minister of Meghalaya noted the reason for the disastrous flood in the region by indicting global warming and climate change.
