Husband tied to a tree and wife gangraped in UP; 10 accused arrested
A 21-year-old woman and her 24-year-old husband were walking home on March 22 when ten people, who were returning from a wedding inebriated, waylaid them and allegedly gangraped the woman after tying the husband to a tree. While the rest looked on, she was assaulted by four men for over two hours. The husband pleaded for mercy but the culprits did not bothered .
The next day, they proceeded to the police station to file a complaint, which was followed by the filing of a FIR. All ten defendants have been arrested, including two juveniles. The accused will face NSA, according to Muzaffarnagar SSP Abhishek Yadav.
The man was walking home from his in-laws’ residence with his wife when ten persons stopped them, according to the victim’s family’s complaint.
The couple was taken to a neighbouring mango grove, where the husband was tied to a tree and four of the accused took turns rapping his wife in front of the other six, according to authorities.
The woman has been sent for medical examination, according to Station House Officer (SHO) Pankaj Panth, and her statement would be recorded before a magistrate under Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) section 164 very soon. PTI COR SAB CK
