Both pilots’ families were devastated by the news, and they are still in disbelief.
“I don’t want to live without my son,” said the mother of Flight Lieutenant Advitiya Bal, a 26-year-old Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot who died in a MIG-21 plane crash in Rajasthan’s Barmer on Thursday, July 28. She was inconsolable, surrounded by family members at their home in Jinder Malhu hamlet in Jammu’s Ranbir Singh Pura.
Bal’s untimely demise has shaken the family. They had recently celebrated his 26th birthday, on July 16th.
