In a tragic accident,1 killed 8 security personnel seriously injured in Manipur
In a very unfortunate incident that occurred in Manipur, 12 security personnel on their way to Tamenglong for their second round of poll duty were involved in a tragic road accident on their way to work this morning.
According to the latest reports, one security officer died on the spot, while eight others were seriously injured.
According to sources, the accident occurred when the car they were travelling in had technical breakdown, resulting in the collision.
The dead has been identified as Lalawmpuia, a Mizoram police constable from the Champhai area of Mizoram. All other injured, on the other hand, were evacuated to Imphal for further treatment.
Manipur held its first round of assembly elections on February 28, during which electoral violence was reported in some constituencies.
Manipur’s assembly election will take place in two stages on February 28 and March 5. The first phase included 38 constituencies, and the second phase will cover 22. On March 10, the votes will be counted.
