An extremely rare case of a pregnant woman has been reported from Canada. The doctor told that this is an ‘extremely rare’ case of an ectopic pregnancy in which the baby was growing in the mother’s liver.
Michael Norwegian, a pediatrician at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute in Manitoba, Canada, has revealed this astonishing case. Giving information online, he said, ‘A 33-year-old woman had a menstrual history of 14 days and came 49 days after her last menstrual period.’
This unusual case of a baby growing inside the mother’s liver was detailed by Michael Marvey in a recent video released on TikTok. In a video posted on TikTok, the doctor explained that a 33-year-old woman had come to them with a 14-day history of menstrual bleeding and 49 days since her last menstrual period, as per The Sun report. However, they were stunned to find the baby in the liver.
The doctor said, ‘What do we find in the liver – a child. The woman had an ectopic pregnancy in her liver. Sometimes it is seen in the stomach but never in the liver. This is the first time for me. The doctor informed about his discovery by posting a clip on his Tiktok account. According to the report of The Sun, the video was viewed by more than 3 million people in just two days and more than 17,000 people have commented on it.
Surgeons were successful in saving the life of the woman, but they could not save the embryo growing in the liver.
