On Wednesday, the Income Tax Department searched multiple Chinese mobile phone company locations across the country. These firms allegedly broke rules and regulations in order to avoid paying taxes. Several investigation agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, were keeping an eye on them.
The agents have previously raided Chinese companies that were reportedly involved in mobile loan applications and transportation. A couple more companies have caught their attention recently.
According to sources, the IT department established numerous teams on Wednesday morning to undertake searches that began about 9 a.m.
According to an official, manufacturing units, as well as a few corporate offices, were seized.
“A few teams also plundered the Chinese mobile companies’ warehouses.” According to the source, “officials have recovered incriminating documents.”
The IT department had been keeping an eye on ZTE, a Chinese company that manufactures telecom equipment in Gurugram. In August of this year, the company was raided. “In connection with tax evasion, we had taped their India head’s statement.” On their end, we discovered several anomalies. The official stated, “They were withholding facts in order to avoid paying taxes.”
