Next week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhopal to honor Madhya Pradesh’s tribal heroes. The Prime Minister will spend four hours in the state capital city and one hour and fifteen minutes on the stage, for which five domes are being constructed.
The state government has budgeted more than Rs. 23 crore for the event, with Rs. 13 crores dedicated solely to transportation to the Jamboree Maidan event.
On November 15, Madhya Pradesh will commemorate Bhagwan Birsa Munda with the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas. PM Modi will deliver a speech and dedicate the country’s first public-private partnership-built railway station, Habibganj, at Jamboori Maidan in the city.
The Jamboree Maidan’s huge location is expected to attract two lakh tribals from around Madhya Pradesh, and the entire arena is decked out with tribal art and photographs of tribal legends.
For the past week, about 300 people have been working on this project. For the tribals, large pandals have also been constructed.
Madhya Pradesh is home to India’s largest tribal population.
Over 12 crores will be spent on transportation, food, and housing for individuals from 52 districts, while over 9 crores would be spent on five domes, tents, décor, and publicity. The state has 47 seats set aside for Scheduled Tribes. The BJP won 29 seats in 2008, 31 seats in 2013, and only 16 seats out of 47 seats in 2018.
The Habibganj railway station was built at a cost of around 450 crores as part of a public-private partnership (PPP). The station is built in the same style as Heidelberg, Germany’s train station. The modern station will have amenities such as passenger separation based on arrivals and departures, ample seating on platforms, lounges, and concourses, as well as dorms and restrooms.
World heritage monuments like the Sanchi Stupa, Bhojpur temple, Bhimbetka, Birla Mandi, Tawa Dam, and the Tribal Museum would be seen from the railway station. According to project director Md. Abu Asif, this is Indian Railways’ first PPP project. The station will have a restaurant zone, a kids’ zone, an entertainment portion, and a retail hotspot.
