A 50-year-old man from Chembur in eastern Mumbai was arrested on Tuesday evening after a teenage girl who was rescued in 2019 recently spoke out about how the man raped her and her sisters multiple times.
Firoz Khan sexually molested her and four other young girls, according to the 17-year-old girl, who was rescued two years ago and has now started her studies. Her sisters, ages 15, 13, and 11, are three of them.
Firoz Khan was apprehended, according to Krishnakant Upadhyay, zone 6 deputy commissioner of police. Khan was detained from the Chembur neighbourhood on Tuesday night, according to senior inspector Balasaheb Ghavate of the RCF police station. “On Wednesday, we will present him in front of a special POCSO court to request his remand for custodial interrogation,” he said.
The alleged assaults took place in the Ashok Nagar and Indira Nagar areas of Chembur between 2018 and 2021.
“After the girl’s statement, the children’s home administrators, with the assistance of the police, summoned the other minor girls to the shelter home and counselled them.” They also talked about how they had been sexually assaulted for three years. The RCF police were notified by the shelter home authority, and a case was filed against the accused. “The suspect is still on the loose,” a cop remarked.
The accused compelled the youngster’s to watch porn and then sexually abused them, the minor informed child welfare investigators. According to the officer, he also coerced the girls into the flesh trade by transporting them to his acquaintances’ homes for sexual acts in exchange for money.
