Meghalaya Election Results 2023 LIVE: NPP wins 20 seats, leading on 5 seats
Under a setting of strict security, the Meghalaya Assembly elections vote-counting process began today. Conrad Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya, outpolled Bernard Marak of the BJP and won the South Tura constituency by 10,090 votes, the Election Commission declared on Thursday. The NPP currently holds 20 of the 59 seats in the Meghalayan Assembly, while the UDP has won 11 seats as of 6:00 p.m.
The Voice of the People Party won four seats, while the TMC and Congress won four and five seats, respectively. In addition to the HSPDP winning two seats, two Independent candidates also prevailed. Currently, the BJP is in the lead in one seat and has won two seats.
