The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) held a protest demonstration in the capital of Meghalaya on Wednesday, citing recent attacks on Hindus and vandalism of Hindu temples. Durga goddess idols were smashed during the Durga Puja celebration in Bangladesh. In the unrest, Hindu households were targeted, as well as the ISKCON Temple.
Many innocent people died as a result of no fault of their own. The brutal attack on Hindus in Bangladesh, on the other hand, was condemned by the entire world as a terrible incident.
Meanwhile, the people of Meghalaya, like the rest of the country, condemned the incident, and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad Shillong held a protest demonstration yesterday, seeking justice and prompt action from the Bangladesh government.
VHP protestors came to the streets in Shillong on Wednesday, shouting slogans against “jihadis” and urging the government to cease violence against Hindus and secure their safety.
The demonstration began in Jhalupara and concluded at Butcher Road in Shillong. The Central Puja Committee (CPC) of Meghalaya condemned the incident on Sunday, calling it a “Taliban-style” attack against the country’s minority.
