Sandhya Devanathan has been appointed as the Vice President of Meta India, according to a statement from Meta. According to a statement released on Thursday, Devanathan will concentrate on aligning the company's revenue and business priorities in order to better serve its partners and clients while continuing to support the long-term expansion of Meta's operations and dedication to India.

On January 1, 2023, she will start in her new position and report to Dan Neary, Vice President, Meta APAC. She will also join the APAC leadership team. She will return to India to take the organization and strategy there as president, it continued.
Days after former India director Ajit Mohan left the company to pursue another "opportunity," the new leader was chosen.

The company's India charter will be led by Devanathan, who will also work to strengthen its strategic ties with the top brands, creators, advertisers, and partners in the nation, according to a statement released by Meta on Thursday. This will help the company increase its revenue in important Indian channels.

Devanathan is a corporate executive with 22 years of experience who has worked internationally in the fields of technology, banking, and payments. She joined Meta in 2016 and has since contributed to the development of the companies and teams in Singapore and Vietnam as well as Meta's e-commerce operations throughout the region. 2020 saw her go to lead the largest vertical for Meta globally—gaming—in APAC.


She is the Executive Sponsor for Women@APAC at Meta and the worldwide lead for Play Forward, a global Meta project to increase diversity representation in the gaming industry. She also brings a passion for training women leaders in business. She is also a member of Pepper Financial Services' global board.
