Minor boy feared dead after falling into Brahmaputra while filming video in Guwahati
A young boy drowned on Monday while filming the majestic Brahmaputra in the Pandu neighbourhood of Guwahati. Local teenager Bishal Ghosh, 17, was taking movies on his phone when he slid into the raging water and was quickly carried away by the powerful undercurrents of the river. Ghosh had gone to the Pandu ghat region of the river and was busy filming videos there.
According to reports, the teenager lives in the Pandu locality’s Boripara area.
The local Jalukbari police station was alerted by the witnesses, and they sent a patrol car right away.
With the assistance of the river police, the police force conducted a thorough search operation. The search activities included the participation of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The youth hasn’t been found yet, but all of the teams are currently working on their search and rescue missions. However, the police have stated that they would continue their search for the child until it gets dark today and resume their efforts at first light on Tuesday.
