A group of drunkards caused ruckus at Umling Covid testing Gate; Meghalaya

A gang of drunkers caused a disturbance at the Umling entry exit gate on Wednesday.

The incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. when four unidentified miscreants forced their way into the facilitation centre and began harassing the attendees and personnel.

Security personnel attempted to stop the miscreants from entering the centre, but they managed to enter and ill-treated the visitors and one Army, shouting at them and asking them to leave and also they closed and block the door for testing.They even reportedly manhandled a soldier while he waited for his turn for a test.

As the facilitation centre’s security personnel were unable to control the situation, they called the police, but the perpetrators fled immediately, fearing the consequences.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are making every effort to nab the suspects.
