The Odisha Cabinet raised the upper age limit for people applying for State government positions from 32 to 38 years in a key move announced on Monday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik presided over a meeting of the State Cabinet, which made the crucial decision. The assembly accepted up to 12 major ideas.

“The upper age limit for various recruitments of the State government was 32 years,” Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra said in a statement on the cabinet decision. The State Cabinet, on the other hand, has agreed to raise the upper age restriction from 32 to 38 years. The relaxation of maximum age limitations will be in effect for three years, starting in 2021, 2022, and 2023.”
“The maximum age limit for candidates from the SC/ST and SEBC categories has been raised to 43 years.” “For women applicants, the top age limit will be 43 years,” Mohapatra stated.
The Upper Age Limit for General PwD candidates has been raised by ten years to 48 years, while the Upper Age Limit for SC/ST/SEBC PwD candidates (including women) has been raised to 53 years.
The decision, according to the CS, was made to help youths who were unable to sit for recruitment exams due to a precarious situation and had hit the age in the previous two years.
