‘On way to make new India’ captioned by Yogi Adityanath on a photo with PM Narendra Modi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday shared a picture of himself with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Taking to Twitter, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister today said the leaders aim for a new India. 

“We have embarked on a journey with an aim and have dedicated ourselves to it. We long for sunshine, to go beyond the skies and to build a new India,” the Uttar Pradesh chief minister wrote on Twitter .

The picture by Yogi Adityanath comes amid the prime minister’s two-day visit to Lucknow to attend the 56th DGP-IGP conference. He reached Raj Bhawan on November 19 and will leave for New Delhi on the evening of November 21.

Elections for the 403-seats Uttar Pradesh Assembly are slated for early next year.

In the run-up to the assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2022 in five states, Uttar Pradesh being the most important one for the Bharatiya Janata Party, the party has already started putting in efforts to address the people of the state.

The BJP is focusing on regaining 78 seats where the party and its allies had lost in the 2017 Assembly elections. CM Adityanath has been touring these constituencies, inaugurating and laying a foundation of new projects.

According to sources in the BJP, Adityanath has launched new infrastructure projects, inaugurated projects and addressed public meetings in 19 such constituencies so far and he will visit the remaining seats in the coming days. “The target is to win at least 55 of those seats in 2022. Along with the CM, both the deputy CMs will also hold similar programmes soon in such constituencies,” said a BJP leader.
