One killed, several others injured after landslide in mining quarry in Haryana

State police claimed two persons were missing and numerous others were injured after a landslide in a mining quarry in Bhiwani, Haryana, according to reports.

On Saturday, a piece of a stone mine collapsed on them in Haryana’s Bhiwani’s Dadam mining area in Tosham Tehsil, killing one worker and injuring at least two more. A landslide is thought to have caused the event, according to news agency ANI.

A rescue attempt is underway for more than a half-dozen automobiles and four to five persons who are trapped.

“We are saddened by the avalanche that occurred in the Dadam mining zone in Bhiwani. I’m in close contact with the local administration to ensure that rescue activities are carried out quickly and that injured people receive immediate care “Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister, stated on Twitter.

JP Dalal, Haryana’s agriculture minister, has arrived at the site of the landslide.

According to several eyewitnesses, mining efforts were suspended a few days ago, but the specific cause of the stone mine collapse is yet unknown.
