The inaugural meeting of the India-Central Asia Summit will be hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 27, the external affairs ministry announced on Wednesday. According to an official announcement, Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will participate in the virtual meeting.
This would be the first high-level meeting of its sort between India and Central Asian countries, according to the statement. According to the MEA, the first India-Central Asia Summit reflects India’s growing involvement with Central Asian countries, which are part of India’s “extended neighbourhood.”
