Pre-booking RT-PCR tests compulsory from December 20 for 6 airports.

In light of the Omicron scenario, the Central government announced on Tuesday that international passengers travelling from ‘at-risk’ nations to six metro cities, including Mumbai and Delhi, must pre-book RT-PCR tests. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) stated that the new rule would take effect on December 20.

Beginning December 20, all international travellers arriving at airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad from ‘at-risk’ nations would be required to pre-book an RT-PCR test.

According to the directive, the Air Suvidha portal will be changed to allow passengers who are travelling from ‘at risk’ countries or who have visited ‘at risk’ countries in the previous 14 days to pre-book the RT PCR test. The ministry further claimed that a link to the relevant airport website will be provided in the Air Suvidha platform, which will be visible to passengers while they fill out the self-declaration form (SDF),.
