According to institute sources, the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) has had significant pre-placement during the current academic year, with more offers in 2022–23 than in 2021–22.
In contrast to the 179 offers it received in 2021–22, IITG has already received 218 pre-placement offers (PPOs) this year, with the highest PPO averaging Rs 1.20 crore annually.
Up until the beginning of phase one of campus placements, which is scheduled for December 1, PPOs would still be made.
The PPOs produced this year show that the students' diligence has paid off, stated IITG Director T.G. Sitharam in his congratulations to the students.
According to an institute release from the Director, IITG welcomes more businesses to come and take part in hiring the best talent in the nation.
The strong internship programme and pre-placement lectures held by the IITG's Centre for Career Development for the students were cited as important factors in this performance.
"In order to give the students knowledge about the fields and help them prepare, we organised webinars. We worked with technical clubs to assist students in finding the appropriate study and course material for particular profiles, which led to an increase in PPOs this year "Abhishek Kumar, director of the Center for Career Development, said.
