Sinaloa drug lord captured: black hawk crashed In Operations

Notorious drug lord Rafael Caro Quintero has been captured by Mexican authorities, he was accused of the 1985 killing of a U.S. DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agent, nearly a decade after walking out of a Mexican prison in 2013 after serving 28 years behind bars and returning to drug trafficking.

Mr. Caro Quintero, 69, was captured in a joint operation with Mexico’s Attorney General’s office in the municipality of San Simón in western Sinaloa state, where he was found hiding in a thicket by a search dog named Max, said the Mexican navy on Friday.

A Black Hawk helicopter crashed as per the reports from Mexico’s navy which was involved in operations in Sinaloa Friday near the city of Los Mochis, leading 14 of the 15 personnel on board killed.

In a tweet, Mr. Lopez Obrador lamented the deaths and confirmed the helicopter that crashed had been supporting the operation to capture Mr. Caro Quintero.

The arrest comes right after the Mexican president met with Biden, and follows a ramped up reward campaign by the DEA.
