Registration for CUET in Meghalaya kicks off with an awareness programme

Over 1.27 lakh students applied for the CUET in the first week, with Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar accounting for half of the total.

A total of 2485 applications have been submitted through Assam, 1134 through Tripura, 602 through Mizoram, 525 through Arunachal Pradesh, 193 through Meghalaya, 162 through Manipur, 11 through Nagaland and 74 through Sikkim in the Northeast.

During an awareness workshop at Ampati Degree College on Monday, students were briefed about the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

According to a release, Ampati Degree College held an awareness session for its class XII and BA sixth semester students, which was attended by college faculty members and heads of higher secondary schools in the South West Garo Hills.

In an effort to make the students more aware of the nature of CUET 2022, in depth discussions regarding its implementation were held during the programme.

Websites were also provided to students for information about syllabi, dates, and exam centers.

On Friday, the Meghalaya Education Department informed that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) (UG) 2022) has been introduced for admission into all UG Programmes in all Central Universities for the academic session 2022-23 under the Ministry of Education (MoE).

Candidates from rural and remote areas will have an opportunity to apply through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which will offer equal chance and a common platform. There will also be a better connection between candidates and universities.

Candidates will be able to cover a broad range of topics and participate in the admissions process for numerous Central Universities by taking a single examination.

NEHU, Shillong conducted a deliberation and threadbare discussion on last Thursday under the Chairmanship of L Rymbui Minister of Education, Meghalaya in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, and other distinguished Professors from the esteemed institution, in addition to distinguished college principals and professors from Meghalaya.
