RMC Predicts Thunderstorms, lightning, Heavy Rain in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal including others
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds for isolated areas of Assam despite the oppressive heat. According to the forecast, there will likely be moderate to heavy rain in a number of locations across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) announced this via the microblogging platform Twitter, stating that isolated locations including Goalpara, Baksa, Barpeta, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Darrang, Udalguri, Hojai, West Karbi-Anglong, Biswanath, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Dima-Hasao, Cachar, Hailakandi, and Karimganj.
Additionally, it said that several locations in the Karbi-Anglong, Golaghat, Majuli, and Charaideo districts experience the same weather.
The constant downpour that has been occurring in all of the Northeastern states for almost a month has had terrible effects, including deadly floods and landslides. Arunachal, Meghalaya, and Manipur, on one hand, were devastated by devastating landslides, while Assam was severely hit by floods that affected over 30 lakh people.
