Services Men and Maharashtra Women Win Again In Kabaddi At The National Games 2022
At the National Games 2022, Services men defeated Tamil Nadu 45–31 while Maharashtra women defeated the host state of Gujarat 46–22.
Services defeated Tamil Nadu 45-31 on Tuesday to claim their second victory at the National Games 2022, keeping them on track for a fourth consecutive victory in the men’s Kabaddi competition. The women of Maharashtra also recorded their second victory in Group A, defeating the hosts Gujarat 46-22 to follow up their exciting 32-31 triumph against the reigning national champions from Himachal Pradesh.
The Services’ men witnessed a thrilling comeback by Tamil Nadu, who trailed 12-19 at the interval before coming back to win 27-30. At that point, Services increased the stakes and won easily.
“We will miss Navin Kumar who is injured. That is a concern. Other than that, it has been a good journey so far,” Kumar said. “Tamil Nadu played very well, especially in the middle of the second half when they came close to us. But I am happy that we held our nerves and went on to secure a good win.”
Sanjay, the coach of Maharashtra, was happy with his female players’ effort. “The girls are doing a good job. The semifinals are close at its conclusion. We aim to defeat Bihar in the final league game so that we may enter the knockout stage with a positive attitude. With a fresh start, we aim to win the gold, he declared.
