Shocking Video: Cop Brutally Assaults Elderly Man at a Rail Platform in MP
A video showing a uniformed constable beating an elderly man at Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur railway station has sparked widespread condemnation of the police. The event happened on Thursday, and the footage has gone viral since then. At the time of the occurrence, a passenger at the railway station had live-streamed it on social media.
The cop can be seen in the video kicking the man in the face, and as soon as the victim gets up, there is furious finger pointing by the cop, followed by another kick. Later, the cop grabs the elderly man, who is clothed in a T-shirt and track trousers, by the legs and dangles him off the platform’s edge, kicking him again.
Despite the constable repeatedly thrashing the elderly guy at the railway station, the passengers remained silently by and recorded the entire incident. But no one intervened to prevent the cop from pounding the man.
The officer has been identified as Anant Sharma, and he has been suspended by the authorities. Police have identified the victim as Gopal Prasad. The video was extensively posted on social media, and netizens harshly criticised the police officer for his actions.
