Shooting at Thailand daycare center kills 23 children; Shooter a former police officer
According to police officials quoted by AFP, a gunman and a knife-wielding attacker invaded a daycare centre in Thailand on Thursday, killing at least 31 people, including 23 children. According to Deputy Police spokesperson Archon Kraitong, there are at least 31 deceased, although more information is still being received.
Nong Bua Lamphu, in northern Thailand, is where the shooting took place. Adults and children are among the victims, according to reports. Thailand police reported that the mass shooter was a former police officer.
The police in Thailand confirmed that all agencies have been informed to take action. According to Thai media, the shooter murdered his wife and child before turning the gun on himself, according to Reuters. Mass shootings are uncommon in Thailand, but in 2020, a soldier who was upset about a property deal gone bad went on a spree that left at least 29 people dead and 57 injured.
