Shraddha murder case: What was Aaftab's motivation in looking into the death of Anupama Gulati?

The police have recently learned that the accused Aaftab Amin Poonawala had searched online about the hotly-publicized Anupama Gulati murder case, which had shook Dehradun in 2010. As more and more horrible information regarding the murder of Shraddha Walkar continue to surface. The unsettling specifics of how Aaftab Poonawala first strangled Shraddha to death before chopping her body into 35 pieces and dispersing them over the national capital are also strikingly comparable to the information obtained in the 12-year-old murder case that shocked the entire nation.

On October 17, 2010, Anupama Gulati was killed by her husband Rajesh Gulati, who then sawed her body into 72 pieces, frozen them, and dumped them over several days.

There are many similarities between the two gruesome killings. Experts were quoted by PTI as noting that they demonstrate the assassins' cruelty as well as the fact that the killings were planned out and not carried out in a fit of rage.

In both incidents, the murderers utilised a deep freezer or refrigerator to conceal the body's pieces and foul odour in addition to a saw to cut up the victim.

Aaftab admitted to the police that he was motivated to conceal the body pieces in Shraddha's case by the American crime drama "Dexter." Rajesh, Anupama's husband, had also borrowed a plot from a foreign film in that woman's situation.

In all instances, the murderers were cunning enough to conceal the horrific crime from their neighbours for months. By sending them messages from her email address, Anupama Gulati's husband deceived her relatives and friends. For weeks, Poonawala maintained Shraddha Walkar's social media profiles.
