Assam’s Nagaon girl Najnin Yasmin has been recognized as an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist, bringing honour to the state. Najnin is the daughter of Abul Kalam Azad and Monjila Begum, both teachers at Kadamoni Town High School in Nagaon district.
Naznin Yasmin, a Tezpur University M.Tech graduate from Nagaon district’s Juria town, has been recruited as a junior scientist for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
She enlisted the support of a scientist friend and used the internet to further her knowledge and chart her course to ISRO. She earned her B.Tech in Electronics from Gauhati University’s NITS Mirza College. She then graduated with honours from Tezpur University with a master’s degree in engineering in 2016. Yasmin took an ISRO written test in 2019 and was invited to an interview on August 11, 2021, at the North East Space Application Centre in Shillong.
