Strike called off by Nationwide Bank, all banking transactions to go on as usual: Report
The IBA and the AIBEA met on Wednesday to try to fix the problem, but no agreement could be reached.
All India Bank Employees' Association's decision to cancel the planned statewide strike will not affect the operation of banks throughout India. The Indian Banks Association has previously met the majority of their demands, according to PTI.
In other words, there won't be any interruptions to the banks' operations or the transactions themselves. The IBA and the banks have agreed to discuss the issues bilaterally, and the strike has been postponed, according to CH Venkatachalam, general secretary of the All India Bank Employees' Association.
The third Saturday of this month, November 19, falls on a working day for banks. On the second and fourth Saturdays, all banks are closed.
The Industrial Disputes Act was being broken, employees were being harassed by being transferred, trade unions were increasingly being attacked, and the CSB Bank refused to raise wages, among other things, therefore the bank employees were originally slated to strike today.
