T-Mobile will begin using SpaceX’s Starlink satellites to provide cell coverage anywhere in the US. There are 500,000 square miles uncovered by any cellular network.
SpaceX and T-Mobile announced a technology alliance which they call coverage above and beyond. Elon Musk said, “We are incredibly excited to be pioneering this revolutionary new technology with T-Mobile”. The partnership has a vision that is the end of mobile dead zones.
Elon assures that “The Starlink second-generation satellites will be able to broadcast direct to cell phones.”
