Mahua Moitra, a Trinamool MP who started a new debate with her viewpoint on Goddess Kaali, appears to have unfollowed the Trinamool Congress’s official Twitter account after the party published a statement denying its involvement in her remarks. At the India Today conclave yesterday, the TMC MP expressed her opinion that she has every right to worship Deity Kali as a “meat-eating and alcohol-accepting goddess” because everyone has the freedom to worship God however they see fit.
The MP said that she had every right to see Goddess Kali as a “meat-eating and alcohol-accepting goddess” as every person has the freedom to worship God anyway they see fit during an India Today conclave in Kolkata. “When people perform puja in places like Bhutan or Sikkim, for instance, they offer their god whisky. They will accuse you of blasphemy if you travel to Uttar Pradesh and claim that you provide alcohol to your god as prasad “She argued her position by saying.
“In my opinion, Goddess Kali is a meat-eating, alcohol-tolerance goddess. Additionally, you will observe sadhus smoking if you visit Tarapith, a significant Shakti peeth in the Birbhum area of West Bengal. This is the form of Kali that people worship (there). Being a follower of Hinduism’s goddess Kali, I have the freedom to visualise Kali in that way “said Moitra.
This comes amid the current controversy surrounding the documentary film’s poster, which depicts a lady wearing a kaali-inspired outfit smoking a cigarette against a backdrop of a pride flag. However, Moitra explicitly stated that neither the comment nor the word “smoking” were used in the context of the specific movie.
