As the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters its sixth day, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the European Parliament on Tuesday. During an extraordinary session of the European Parliament, Zelenskyy and Ukrainian parliament speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk presented a speech.
The Ukraine President appealed “Without you, Ukraine is going to be lonesome,” Mr Zelensky told the European Parliament by video link. “Do prove that you are with us. Do prove that you will not let us go. Do prove that you are indeed Europeans and then life will win over death and light will win over darkness. Glory be to Ukraine,” he continued.
During the session, Zelenskyy earned a standing ovation. He demanded that the European Union (EU) “show” its support for Ukraine.
He went on to say that Ukrainians are fighting “for their land” and “for their freedom,” despite the fact that all of the country’s cities are being blocked by Russian troops arriving from all sides. With his speech, appeals, urges, and zeal, Ukraine President won the hearts of the audience, who gave him a standing ovation.
Russian rocket attack killed more than 70 Ukrainian soldiers, while “barbaric” bombardment killed dozens of civilians. This war claimed the life of an Indian student from Karnataka.
On Tuesday, a tremendous explosion occurred in central Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, just in front of the city’s administration building, resulting in a massive fireball that looked to engulf numerous cars going through an area known as Freedom Square .
